Staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds were quiet and nicely laid out for a quick stroll.
The room was very noisy and we were kept awake most of the night.
Very friendly staff and a comfortable room, excellent food and service. We would like to stay again and longer to fully enjoy your hotel. Many thanks!
morning newspaper did not arrive
What a beautiful location in fantastic grounds. The peacocks roaming freely were a delight and I loved the fact that there was a conceige at the hotel, which seems to have been forgotten about in some hotels. Everything was right when we checked in and the staff were very nice. The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I had had for a long while.
Drinks at the bar very expensive and not worth having. £10 for 2 drinks is extortionate!! The rooms do need updating. Although the size of the rooms is fab and my 3 hyear old daughter had her own double bed but the rooms need coming into the 21st century and having flat screen tv's etc. the rooms just need to be re-decorated and tidying up.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, swimming pool was just the temperature and good size
steam room and sauna too far away from the pool area
The staff were excellent. The main house was and bare bones of the place was excellent The food was very good
The rooms are tired and need of updating The bar needs updating the library theme is dated especially the lamps on the bar you should remove them The main house was lovely but he rooms are in need of remodernisation
Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We had a very restful stay and interesting to be in such a grand house. Attractive grounds. Easy to find. Did not use any of the spa facilities this time but would do if visited again. Got a good deal on bed and breakfast.
Double room very nice though had difficulty understanding how the lights worked and needed to ask ar reception for some help re lights and heating. Double bed comfortable but seemed a bit narrow - maybe our imagination. Shower a bit difficult to control temperature-wise.
Simple things that make a diiference. 1. I requested flowers and champagne on arrival. i got neither 2. resticted evening meal menu and same started 2 days on the trot. 3. room service no butter for toast then 25 mins to get some 4. room service no sugar next day and late as requested 7 to 7.30 and came at 7.45 which meant i was running late. 5. shower not up to £160 per night. shame as the surrounding and staff are ok but at these prices it is not up to it.
The staff were friendly and respecful. Food was excellent and location was beautiful and relaxing
The rooms are a little rundown - but the staff more than made up for this. Attentive, immediately responsive and very accommodating. The friendliness and professionalism of everyone was extremely impressive and deserves commendation. Right from the bar waitresss - who in spite of a busy room - ensured my infirm father got his food ahead of eveyone else. Congratulations - I would come again for this alone.
Accommodation a little bit jaded - but good value
The hotel was charming and in well kept gardens. The staff were very friendly and relaxed. The room was large enough and with attractive furniture which suited the age of the building. We had one dinner in the hotel and we chose the set menu and it was excellent. We had a pedicure( man) and a facial ( lady); they were good. The total cost was a very pleasant suprise ! Highly recomdended.
We thought the building and grounds were very attractive. It was a relaxing venue and very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic and the variety of eating possibilities very good. The staf were all very friendly and most willing to please.
The carpet in our area of the hotel was a little threadbare and the passage between the gym and swimming pool was not ideal.
Had a lovely time. Booked a surprise romantic birthday weekend for my girlfriend & it was everything I was hoping for considering it was a last minute booking. Staff were really helpful & everything we requested on room service got delivered perfectly & on time. Lovely manor on picturesque surroundings, good facilities with spa, pool, sauna etc & restaurant food was lovely. Will definitely be going back at some point. Brad.
Excellent gourmet meals. Lovely afternoon tea in very pleasant Shakespeare Bar. Comfortable bed and seating in large quiet room. Very close to little theatre for their productions. Easy parking and great accessibility to Ashridge Estate.
Bath needed re surfacing. Hairdryer was old and kept cutting out. Kettle switch was faulty.
Location Style of hotel Bar area is good Rooms are good size and comfortable
The restaurant is sadly lacking. Limited menu over 3 days - so called Christmas menu. Quite plain and poorly prepared, presented and served. Would stay here again but eat elsewhere unless new chef appointed.
Friendly staff, lovely surroundings, good food
